Snowing in Umiat

This is just a quick note to observe that Umiat has been seeing wet snow today.  It's not unusual for coastal Arctic Alaska to see snow at this time of year, but Umiat is inland and warmer at this season.  In the 34 years of climate observations between 1946 and 2000 (with a break in the middle), measurable snow was observed in June in only 5 years.  I'm not sure if today's snowfall would count as measurable, as it has been melting on the ground.  Here's a webcam photo.
